The Lost Night

As a teenage boy seeks to uncover what occurred on a night he cannot remember, clues begin to present a larger mystery at play.

16 year-old Christian Henderson sits in his bedroom badly injured. His memory from the previous night is gone, but his parents infer that he was hurt in an attempt at self-harm. Messages from friends reference an incident that occurred at his father's mechanic garage. Taking note of a misplaced and damaged textbook in his room, Christian's memory shows the book sitting in the mechanic garage. He escapes from his bedrooms and investigates the garage, where he finds his parents completing a transaction with a customer. In a neighboring shop, he investigates security footage which reveals he did go to the garage the night before, but so did his mother. Another memory flash confirms his mother's presence at the scene of injury. At dinner, Christian is suspicious of his parents, but the lure him in with happy memories of the past. A single red hair from his father's coat brings a flash of a woman being dragged. Christian returns to the garage, where his parents murder the customer seen earlier. Hiding inside a car in the scrapyard behind the garage, he finds himself with several women, tied up and gagged, one of whom has the same red hair seen in his flashes. The entire sequence of the night before is clicked into place in his mind, revealing his parents have not only harmed him, but are human traffickers and are considering sending him in the next shipment. Though he considers doing nothing in the act of preserving his own "happy" life and stability, he decides to dial 911.
