The Sun Still Rises

A woman attempts to convince her gargoyle partner to abandon the cathedral he lives in as it's scheduled for demolition, but he refuses to leave it behind.

Lucía takes a nightly trip to visit her romantic partner, Fidel, at the cathedral where he lives. As a gargoyle, he comes to life at sunset and turns to stone at dawn, but tonight is the last night before it's demolished. A staunch believer in fate, Lucía tries to convince him that he's supposed to let go, but his loyalty and agoraphobia hold him back. As her arguments fail, Lucía begins doubting which of them is meant to learn something before abandoning her arguments entirely and showing what he means to her through personal action. A meta-commentary on the structure of storytelling.
