Maeve Clarke’s first teenage year is going better than most, she spends all her time with her lifelong best friend, Avery, and is perfectly content in her hometown. When her father joins the military and she loses all contact with Avery and her home, Maeve finds herself in a great deal of pain. She decides the only way to keep herself from getting hurt again is to not form any new connections, and destroy the ones she already has.
