In the year 2087, people are dying as the air becomes too toxic to breathe. Giant spaceships called Arks are taking off to save humanity. Charlize, a poor woman with a newborn baby but no ticket with which to survive and raise her son on the Ark, crosses paths with childless widower detective Williamson, cold and harsh, but who has always wanted to raise a child of his own and has a ticket. Their time together before the world ends allows them to examine what the more important things in life really are.
